SFI certified and approved on board fire bottle system for sprint car racing series. Complete system mandated by World of Outlaws rule change for 2023 and beyond. System features both automatic and manual activation nozzles. Single automatic nozzle on 24-inch hose, activation occurs at 200 degrees F. Up to two manual nozzles are activated by pull cable. Ships pre-filled with 5 pounds of DuPont FE-36 “clean agent” fire suppressant. Fire suppressing agent does not leave any residue or harm surfaces. Designed for Class B flammable liquid fires and EPA approved. System weighs 10 pounds, not including pull cable, manual release head, and nozzles. Clear liquid that turns into vapor and displaces oxygen, starving the fire. Does not inhibit vision like foam or corrosive powders used in traditional extinguishers. Aluminum fire bottle certified for 6 years, can be refilled, and recertified if deployed. Includes roll cage mounting brackets for fire bottle, manual activation head, nozzles, and pull cable. Protect Yourself and Your Sprint Car from On Track Fires with An Automatic Fire Suppression System There is no denying the fact that motorsports and racing in any form is a dangerous sport. Taking safety seriously is one of the best ways to protect yourself and be able to enjoy racing while allowing you to return to the track in the future should anything bad should ever happen to you. Helmets, racing suits, harnesses, and more are all mandated items that we don’t really give a second thought to wearing these days, but what about when that impact with another racer or the track barrier induces an onboard fire? Starting with the 2023 racing season World of Outlaws sprint car series (and many more to follow we’re sure) has mandated an on board fire suppression system to be implemented. The new ruling, which is found in Chapter 3, Section 11, G. Fire Suppression, states that any on board fire suppression system feature BOTH an automatic thermal triggered nozzle and at least one manually triggered nozzle, both mounted in the driver’s compartment and connected to a DOT approved minimum 5lb fire bottle cylinder. The system must meet SFI 17.3 specifications, which further clarifies the fire bottle construction, nozzle mounting, and type of fire suppression agent. The FireBottle AMSC500H system seen here is one of the approved manufacturers found in the WoO updated automatic fire suppression system ruling that can be used. The AMSC500H uses a DOT 5lb cylinder pre-filled with DuPont’s FE-36 “clean agent” fire suppressant. FE-36 is a liquid that deploys as a gas that displaces the oxygen in the vicinity of the spray nozzle. Without oxygen the fire cannot sustain itself and it goes out quickly. Best of all, FE-36 is non-corrosive like traditional foam or powder type extinguishing agents so there is little worry as to damaging wiring and other components. The race car fire suppression system includes the pre-filled 5lb fire bottle with attached automatic thermal trigger nozzle on the end of a 24-inch hose that deploys at 200 degrees F. We also offer the AMSC500 system with the thermal trigger nozzle directly attached to the fire bottle for easier installation. The bottle is to be mounted in the driver’s compartment forward of the driver. Bottle mounting should follow the automatic fire suppression system instructions or class rules to allow best coverage. Also included is the manual trigger head that installs on the fire bottle itself, fittings, and nozzles for manual application of the FE-36 (usually routed to the engine compartment and fuel cell areas), and the manual pull cable that must be within the driver’s reach when fully seated/belted into the sprint car. Lastly, a silicone nozzle cover is included for the automatic nozzle to protect the thermal capsule from impact during pressure washing and should be in place (along with the manual safety releases) whenever the car is off track
